2018 District Governors Elect

Dan LinebargerDan R. Linebarger

District 5730

Dan joined Midland Rotary 25 years ago following his participation in GSE to South Korea. He served as Club President twice, AG for two terms and currently as District Representative to the Wheelchair Foundation. Dan led his District’s GSE team to Thailand in 2010. He is also a member of the International Fellowship of Flying Rotarians.

His support of the RI Foundation is evident by him being a Major Donor, Bequest Society member and a Paul Harris Society Charter member for District 5730.

Dan is engaged to marry Rotarian Kim Bezinque and has one son Cullen. Dan has been self employed since the age of 18 and is semi-retired from the Energy and Real Estate business. His interests and hobbies include travel, flying, saltwater fishing, camping, muscle cars, anything outdoors and most importantly, volunteer work.

Arlie DanielDennis Brigham

District 5770

Dennis began his Rotary journey as a Charter Member of Cross Timbers Rotary Club in Norman, OK.  He was a board member from the Club’s inception through his entire membership and also served as President of Cross Timbers 2001-2002.

In January of 2012 Dennis joined the Rotary Club of Norman and began serving as Rotaract advisor. 2013-2017, he served on the Board of Directors. Dennis has served on the Governor’s Leadership Team 2014-1017 and went through the EDL program in the Fall of 2015.  He served as District 5770 Rotaract Chair 2015-2017.

Dennis is the co-owner of Bentley Turf Farms in Norman, Oklahoma. A simple farmer and passionate photographer, Dennis is married to Norman Rotarian, Beth Brigham. They have three sons, Alexander, a YSE Alum, Nicholas, a RYLA Alum and Interactor, and Blake, a future Interactor.


District 5790

Gerald is a member of the Rotary Club of Flower Mound Texas since 2000. He served as Club President 2003-2004 and was on the board multiple years. Gerald served as District Chair of Rotarians for Fighting Aids from 2006-2010 and as District Chair of Rotarian Action
Groups from 2010-2016. Gerald attended Emerging District Leadership in the fall of 2014 and served as Assistant Governor 2015-2017, and was nominated to serve as District Governor of District 5790 for 2018-2019.

Gerald is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and Paul Harris Society member. Gerald received the Jerome W. Schultz HERO Award from Rotarians for Fighting Aids, Inc. in 2010 and was named Flower Mound Rotarian of the Year 2014-2015.

Gerald and his wife Kris have 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren. Gerald is currently a partner is a Financial Services firm and is a Certified Financial Planner.

Bill SlickerBill Slicker

District 5810

Bill Slicker joined the Rotary Club of Dallas, Texas, in 1999, having previously been a member of the Rotary Club of Roswell, Georgia, USA, since 1987.

Bill has served as club President of the Rotary Club of Dallas, Texas in 2007-2008 and Chair of the Dallas Rotary Club Foundation in 2008-2009. He has been a Permanent Fund advisor for the United States and Canada from 2003-2005 and District 5810 Foundation Chair for 2016-2017.

Bill has participated in several Rotary initiatives, including a 2014 National Immunization Day in India. He formed the William C. Slicker Endowed Fund in 2002.

Bill has been a community leader in charitable and philanthropic activities for over 40 years. He is Chairman & CEO of The Slicker Family Foundation. He is president of a business consulting company, assisting companies in improving their profitability. Bill is a member of Highland Park United Methodist
Church and his district’s first Arch Klumph Society member.

Bill is a world traveler having visited 75 countries. He has two wonderful children and two terrific grandchildren.

Bill looks forward to a wonderful opportunity to serve as District Governor in 2018-2019.

Judy GuthrieJudy Guthrie

District 5830

Judy joined the Carthage, Texas Rotary Club in February, 2004 and was the first female in her club. She has served as Treasurer, Secretary (twice), and President in 2008-2009 and again in 2013-2014. She chaired the Dictionary Project, RYLA and the Scholarship Program for 10 years as well as the Hamburger Sales and Golf Tournament fundraisers. She served as her club’s Foundation Chair in 2015-2016 and 2016-2017.

Judy is a member of the Paul Harris Society, and had the privilege of serving as a District Assistant Governor from 2009 – 2012.

She has also chaired the District 4 Way Speech Contest 5 times at Panola College. She was the District Foundation CPG Chair from 2014-2016. She attended the RI convention in Atlanta, Ga. in 2017.

Judy attended Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pennsylvania and went to work for Sears, Roebuck and Co. in their training program. She retired from Sears Corporate in 1995 and then she and her late husband Mike moved to Carthage from Dallas and opened a rural Sears store. After selling the store in 2007, she worked for the local radio station in Carthage, KGAS. She now volunteers at a food pantry 3 days a week.

She has 2 sons, Tim and wife Darlene in Sacramento, California and Chris and wife Vicki and grandson Nick in Portland, Oregon.

Carol HolmesKathryn Hubbard

District 5840

Kathryn Hubbard, MD, was born in Charleston, Missouri. She obtained a degree in nursing and later attended medical school to become an Ophthalmologist. She joined Rotary in 1990 in Sedalia, MO.

Kathryn (Kathy) and her husband, Ron, moved to Boerne, TX in 1995 where she started a private practice, joined the Noon Rotary Club of Boerne, and later served as Club President. Her Rotary focus has been on the Foundation on the club and district level. She is a Major Donor to the Foundation and a member of the White Hat Society & PHS. She is a member and the charter president of the Rotary Club of Fair Oaks Ranch. Kathy’s passion is volunteer service in Rotary, medicine, and Stephen Ministry.


Jerry ChapmanJerry Chapman

District 5870

Jerry is a native Texan. He was born in Dallas where he spent a majority of his childhood. He completed high school in Mineral Wells. After high school, he began his engineering studies and also joined the Naval Reserve. Jerry was called to active duty. After discharge
from the Navy, Jerry returned to Dallas and completed his engineering studies at the University of Texas at Arlington. He is a graduate of the Anglican School of Theology and serves as a bi-vocational Episcopal Priest in Austin.

Jerry held management positions in finance and engineering with two large technology firms. Following the death of his wife, Jerry shifted careers. He is a Certified Financial Planning practitioner. His practice focuses on the retirement planning needs of his clients.

Jerry is currently a member of the Rotary Club of Cedar Park. He is a Paul Harris Society member and a Major Donor. Jerry is married to Jonelle Miller-Chapman, a retired Leander ISD teacher. Jonelle is an avocational archeology. She is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin.

Jerry’s son lives in Austin. His daughter’s family with two grandchildren reside in the Boston area.

Carmen CuneoCarmen Evelyn Cuneo

District 5890

Carmen is a member of the Rotary Club of the University Area – Houston; Prior District positions include 2 years as District Secretary, 2 years as District Treasurer, 3 years as Youth Exchange Treasurer, 1 year as Assistant Governor.

Carmen is a Major Donor and has traveled with Rotary for a National Immunization Day to India and to Nicaragua Children of the Dump Project. She led an Inbound and Outbound Friendship Exchange with Russia in 2015 and 2016 respectively and will serve as Chair of the US Section of the Russia United States Intercountry Committee 2019-2020.

Carmen has a 23 year career in construction that has seen her travel to Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. During her construction career, Carmen worked as a Laborer, became a Master Electrician, and later served as a Project Manager on major construction projects including a strategic alliance for telecommunications facilities, a joint venture for a hotel reconstruction, and new construction for hospitals and outpatient surgery centers.

In 2014, Carmen was licensed as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and currently works in private practice. Her accounting firm name is The Cuneo Firm of Public Accountancy.

Carmen has two daughters and six grandchildren. She is a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houston, Texas. Carmen enjoys gardening, bike riding, bird watching, photography, and Astros Baseball.

John HathawayJohn Hathaway

District 5910

John Hathaway first joined the Rotary Club of The Woodlands in 1982 and has maintained perfect attendance since then. He has served in numerous capacities at both the club and district levels. John and Nancy, his wife since 1975, have hosted several Youth Exchange Students, are Major Donors to the Rotary Foundation and are members of the Paul Harris Society. John is a member of the District 5910 Roll of Fame.

John is a native Houstonian and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech University and a JD degree from the University of Texas. He retired as Associate General Counsel of Devon Energy (successor to Mitchell Energy) in 2006. He has been active in his church, the fire department and the United Way in The Woodlands.

John and Nancy have 2 married children (an animator and a pediatrician) and 2 (soon to be 3) grandchildren.

Andrew HaganAndrew James Hagan

District 5930

Andrew Hagan is an active member in good standing of the Rotary Club of Brownsville Sunrise having joined Rotary in 1995. Andrew currently serves as District 5930 Governor Elect in preparation for the upcoming 2018-2019 Rotary year. Andrew has served in various District leadership positions over the past 16 years including District Trainer, District Rotary Foundation chairman, Rotary Foundation Annual Funds chair, District Conference chair and The Rotary Foundation Million Dollar Dinner chairman multiple times, Lt. Governor, Assistant Governor, District’s Strategic Planning and District Emergency Preparedness committees upon fulfilling his responsibilities as Rotary Club president having served at the pleasure of Frank J. Devlyn, RI President in 2001-2002. Andrew has been recognized as Rotarian of the Year by District 5930 multiple times and is a recipient of The Rotary Foundation Citation for Meritorious Service Award in 2015 and the Cliff Dochterman Award in 2017.

Andrew and Elsa, his loving wife of 31 years and his whole family share a passion for “Doing Good in the World” by supporting The Rotary Foundation. Andrew and Elsa are Multiple Paul Harris Fellows, Major Donors, and Bequest Society members having included The Rotary Foundation as a beneficiary
in their estate plans. Alexandra, their daughter and Jose Barba, her husband as well as James, their son and Emily A. Hagan, his wife are all Bequest Society members. Both Alexandra and James are Paul Harris Fellows.

Andrew is the Rio Grande Council Boy Scouts of America immediate past president and has served in various leadership positions in the Rio Grande Council for over 20 years. Andy’s other hobbies include bicycling, bowling, hiking, camping, and traveling to other countries with his family.
